Flip Book Video Part Two

Hi everyone.... its very wet here in North Wales today, so i thought i would share with you another youtube video tutorial. Its part two of the flip book tutorial i started a while back! you will notice i have a new camera! Yay! which has made the video a lot easier to see and understand, so at some point i will be re making the first part.

I have used the papers from Pickle Paper Patch's Arpil Pickle Pack. Which contained the Prima Rose Quartz range combined with some Kaisercraft Gather range. You can easily use other papers and embellishments to make the same thing though its a very universal project.

I filled the flip book with lots of goodies as it is for a swap with another crafty friend! and made a kraft card envelope to add a little letter int he back.

As well as using the Prime papers i also used there Journalling cards and cut out some of the piece on the journalling sheet, i didn't use the foil accented sheets for this project. However i will be using them for another tutorial soon so keep your eyes peeled!

You can find all the supplies used here at http://picklepaperpatch.com

Heres a supply list - Prima Rose Quartz 12x12 paper pad
Prima Rose Quartz Journaling cards
Prima Rose Quartz puffy stickers
Maya Road grey floral trim
Prima Wild n Free crystal gems

I have really enjoyed making the flip books and hope the video is helpful to you guys!! Back soon with more, until then Happy Crafting..... J xx

Our New Design Team!

As Pickle Paper Patch is growing from strength to strength we decided that we needed to add some Design Team members to our already fabulous team! For those of you that are new to crafting a Design Team member can be a lot of things, but for us its the chance to use our products to make craft projects of all types and show what can be achieved with our monthly Pickle Packs. We will even be creating some challenges for all the subscribers too!

Of course I wanted some amazing crafters, people who like to try all types of craft. Crafters who would be as excited as me to try new products and be happy to show them off by using them in their beautiful makes! With that in mind, I knew straight away who I wanted to help us to move forward on our Pickle Paper Patch journey!

Please welcome Laura Jane Thomson and Kelly Leese!! We are so pleased and excited to have them on the team!

I have followed both Laura and Kelly's work via their Facebook pages. We arranged to meet up at a crop a few hours drive away. From chatting and crafting with them I saw their work first hand and knew that they would be great to work with and an asset to the team.

Kelly is a great mixed media artist and makes some amazing 3D projects! We are looking forward to seeing what she makes with the June Pickle Pack. Kelly is the owner of the Facebook page The Crafty Bat and is a regular blogger. You can find her via these links ... www.facebook.com/thrcraftybatuk www.the-crafty-bat.blogspot.co.uk

Just a peek at some of  Kelly's amazing work!

Laura is a fabulous scrapbooker and card maker, she posts her work not only to her Facebook page but on her blog too. The layout made from Aprils Pickle Pack is a particular favourite of mine, can't wait to see more. You can find her via these links ...

Mini Album Flip Through

I've been developing the way i make albums over the last 12 months, using various techniques. From paper bags to envelopes, cardboard and acrylic! By far this style is my favourite to make, the basis is simple to make and can be altered to fit with any size. I made this one quite thin as my friend wanted it to only have a few special pictures in side with room for journalling the pictures where also going to be 6x4 format so it still needed to be quiet big so that they would fit either way?

I do like my albums to have a few quirks, little hidden tags and folding out sections. Its harder than you think to make a smaller album! Enjoy watching and hope it inspires you !

Is it a card box or a box card?? ...

Today I have been trying to finish off projects I have half finished. Do you do that too? Start various projects then for one reason or another break off and somewhere along the line they never get finished. Well today I have been finally finishing those things off.

This is what I have been finishing. A box card or card box?? I never know which way it's said. But basically it's a card with a box inside. That looks (supposed to look) like book pages!! I've used a lot of things from the April Pickle Pack from picklepaperpatch.com. This pack is now sold out but there are still some of the elements for sale on the site. Such as dream-catcher, flowers and paper pad.

This shows the inside where you can write on the little journaling cards and pop a present inside the box part.

I also made a little paper gift bag and tag to pop them in. All matching of course!

The project took about 2 hours to make. The items used are;
Prima Rose Quartz paper pad,
Prima Rose Quartz journaling cards,
Little Birdie chipboard dream catcher,
Little Birdie blush flowers and butterfly,
Prima puffy stickers from Rose Quartz collection,
Authentique Petite Diction word stickers.

All items can be found at www.picklepaperpatch.com

Thanks for reading.

The next Pickle Pack will be here before you know it. And as we are heading into summer I thought something bright and colourful was needed. This pack will have beautiful papers in lovely floral themes, with die cut ephemera in card and acetate. Along with flowers and stencil with paste and ink, that's a just a few of the amazing products in this months pack! I will be providing some tutorials on this throughout the month to show you some different techniques for using the products. Of course as always, show us your creations over at our Facebook page or email them to our website at gallery@picklepaperpatch.com

Did you know that you can ink, colour, emboss and glitter these amazing die cut wood pieces. Makes them really stand out on your projects. 😍

Christmas in June.....

Christmas in June......

I've been working on some techniques to make my own boxes to fit my handmade mini albums inside, I've tried to make boxes before but always struggled with them looking a bit too handmade and not as professional as I would like them to be. But, after around six attempts (no, I'm not showing the failed ones!!) these pictures show a work in progress really. I am still on the hunt for something to use as feet, I am thinking crystal drawer knobs but finding the right size is difficult.

Products used: Prima Sweet Peppermint 12x12 paper pad
Petaloo velvet flowers
Tim Holtz film reel
Metal embellishments from Pickle Paper Patch http://picklepaperpatch.com/listing/pickle-paper-patch-filigree-embellishments-antique-copper-flower/

For both the box and the album I have used Prima Sweet Peppermint collection. As well as the paper pad it comes with lots of fab stickers and plenty of journaling type cards too. On the top of the box I added some Petal velvet flowers and some kraft paper to look like a bunch of cards. I added a little bit of Tim Holtz film reel and a few clay embellishments, with some metal filigree corners and ovals from Pickle Paper Patch too. These embellishments are a antique bronze finish which I think add a little more of a vintage feel to the box. However, it still needs some feet! Hopefully I will find something perfect soon!!

Next I made the album to fit inside. I decided that I would make a mini album using paper strips to bind, so that my pages can be added as I go and extra pockets and fold outs incorporated into the final design. Usually I draw a little sketch out of how I want all the pages to run, but this time I have just worked away as I go.

The mini album measures around 8 x 5 inches and is about 3 inches thick. I like to leave plenty of room between the pages so even though its quite thick as there will only be 4 pages inside. However these pages will have fold outs, pockets and sliding sections so in reality there will be room for about 20 pictures.

This shows the first page, I have made a kraft envelope so that a letter from Santa can be kept inside and a envelope pocket on the right for any special cards or gift tags that want to be kept, also plenty of room for other pictures here!

I will be updating with the finished pieces soon.

Thanks for reading and happy crafting
